COUGAR FUN FEST
What a great Cougar Fun Fest turn out this year! Special thanks to all those who worked so hard to make the event a huge success, especially overall Fun Fest Chair Melanie Bowers,Volunteer Chair Amanda Toepke, Food Chair Kay Hake, Games Chair Pat Fancher, Raffle Chair Leslie Adam and our Fundraising Chairs Beth Dunafon, Dawn Orr and Sarah Swindle. Over 300 people donated their time to make this happen!
ARTS NIGHTS
The community came together to celebrate the Arts in our first ever Mill Creek Arts Night on Friday, March 13. Special thanks to Kathy Miller and Pam Smith for their hard work in coordinating this successful event. We thank Woodcrest Chapel for use of their staff and facilities, the many artists who donated their time and expertise to this event and the Mill Creek families who volunteered and participated in this experiential evening.
LEGISLATIVE NIGHT
Thanks to Missouri PTA, CCPTA and our wonderful Mill Creek families for their hard work on the KIDS FIRST Legislative Night. We'd also like to thank the following legislators for coming to show their support for education and our children: Sen. Kurt Schaefer, Reps. Chris Kelly, Mary Still and Stephen Webber.
BOOK FAIR & TEACHER APPRECIATION
Special thanks to Annie Lee and Kim Dampier for setting up and running the spring Book Fair. Also, a big thanks to Kim Fallis and Kim Hughes for their organization of teacher refreshments for Teacher Conferences.
Kudos also to the outstanding volunteers who helped with the book fair and the baking. It is greatly appreciated!
MILL CREEK SPELLING BEE
The 2009 Mill Creek Spelling Bee was held Jan. 26. Robert Wong is the 2009 Spelling Bee winner. Congratulations to Robert, Connor Fitzmaurice (2nd), Maddie Gipson (3rd), Josh Robbins, Affinity Minnis, Wendy Zhang, Drake Short and Megan Polniak (tie for 4th) for their outstanding performances. Robert will represent Mill Creek in the Columbia Daily Tribune Regional Spelling Bee on March 12. All of Mill Creek wishes Robert the best of luck!
